For the purposes of supporting urban rehabilitation, interventions for the complete rehabilitation of buildings aged 30 years or more, or the rehabilitation of abandoned industrial spaces and units, are eligible.
IFRRU 2020 is a financial instrument that aims to support investments in urban rehabilitation and energy efficiency of the property to be rehabilitated, without restrictions with regards to the nature of the entity requesting the financing or the use of the property to be rehabilitated.
Support is provided through financial products of two types (not cumulative):
- Loans: Granted by selected banks*, with maturities of up to 20 years, grace periods equivalent to the investment period + 6 months (max. 4 years) and interest rates below those practiced in the market for investments of the same nature;
- Guarantees: Associated with loans granted by the same banks, for projects that do not have sufficient guarantee.
Projects can also be granted tax benefits already inherent in the law, inherent to its location and the nature of the intervention, namely at the level of IMI, IMT and VAT.
